Agent Nouveau, the independent boutique travel and lifestyle events space in Westbourne, is delighted to invite local professionals to its next Breakfast Networking Event, part of The Business of You series, taking place on Tuesday 10th November from 8am–10am. Guests will enjoy a relaxed and inspiring morning of connection, conversation and delicious food. Spaces are limited to 10. The full £20 ticket price will be donated to the Steve Bernard Foundation.
GUEST SPEAKER: TONY BERNARD
This month’s guest speaker is Tony Bernard, Trustee and Chairman (or “Gaffer”, as the team affectionately call him) of the Steve Bernard Foundation. Tony set up the charity with family and friends in February 2006, in memory of his son Steve, known to all as Stevie B, who was tragically killed in a car accident in November 2005. This November marks 21 years since Stevie’s passing, making Tony’s visit a particularly poignant moment to celebrate his son’s legacy.
Stevie loved sport and always played with a smile on his face. From the earliest days, his family felt the support and donations that poured in should go to the thing he loved best. In the two decades since, the Foundation has raised more than £800,000 and supported more than 900 projects, covering over 80 different sports and four continents.
Tony will share the Foundation’s story: how a family turned grief into purpose, and how a charity run entirely by volunteers has grown to fund everything from the AFC Bournemouth Ability Counts team and local boxing clubs to promising young athletes, Olympians & Invictus Gold medallists as well as outreach projects in Thailand, Uganda and Kenya. He will also talk about the power of community, the role local businesses can play, and the Foundation’s mission to help every child enjoy sport.
It promises to be a moving and uplifting session for anyone interested in purpose, resilience and the difference local people can make together.
