STARS Dorset Welcomes Jeff Mostyn as Patron
STARS Dorset, Sexual Trauma and Recovery Services, the Dorset-based charity supporting survivors of sexual violence, is proud to announce that Jeff Mostyn has become its newest Patron, joining actress Julie Hesmondhalgh in championing the charity’s vital work across the county.
Jeff brings with him a remarkable record of public service and deep roots in the Dorset community. Best known as the longest-serving chairman in AFC Bournemouth’s history, a role he held for 16 years, he is also a Fellow of the FA Council. He holds an Honorary Doctorate from Bournemouth University. His recently published memoir, The Chairman, has been shortlisted for ‘Football Book of the Year’ at the prestigious Charles Tyrwhitt Sports Book Awards in association with The Sunday Times. A passionate supporter of the voluntary sector, Jeff is already a trusted friend to several Dorset charities.
Helen Stevens, CEO of STARS Dorset, said, “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Jeff as our Patron. His profile, his compassion and his genuine commitment to making a difference in Dorset make him a wonderful ambassador for everything STARS stands for. We couldn’t be prouder to have him by our side.”
Jeff Mostyn said, “When I met with Helen and heard about the extraordinary work STARS Dorset does for survivors across the county, I knew I wanted to be part of it. It is a privilege to support such a courageous and important organisation.”
Jeff joins fellow Patron Julie Hesmondhalgh, the acclaimed actress celebrated for her roles in Coronation Street, Broadchurch and Happy Valley, as STARS Dorset continues its mission to build a society free from abuse.
