Bounce, Slide, and Run for a Life-Changing Cause: STARS Dorset Needs You for the Bournemouth Inflatable 5k!

Bournemouth’s biggest, bounciest charity challenge makes its spectacular debut on Saturday 1st August 2026 at Littledown, and STARS Dorset is calling on the community to run, jump, bounce, swing and slide, and raise vital funds for survivors of sexual trauma across the county.

Imagine 30 giant inflatable obstacles: Towering slides, tunnels you’ll scramble through with a grin on your face. Now imagine all of that and knowing that every step you take raises money to support survivors of sexual trauma and abuse right here in Dorset. That’s the Bournemouth Inflatable 5k.

STARS Dorset (Sexual Trauma And Recovery Services) is proud to be an official charity partner of this incredible event, and we’re looking for fun-loving, big-hearted people across Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, and the wider county to join us on the course on Saturday, 1st August 2026.

“You don’t have to be fast. You don’t have to be fit. You just have to show up, and together, we can change lives.”

— STARS Dorset

The Event: More Fun Than You’ve Had in Years

The Bournemouth Inflatable 5k is not your average run, it’s an adults’ and children’s playground on a spectacular scale. Set across Littledown in Bournemouth, the course features 30 unique obstacles, including giant inflatables, dizzying slides, and winding tunnels, all guaranteed to have you laughing, panting, and wanting to go again.

Whether you’re a seasoned runner or someone who considers a brisk walk to the fridge a workout, there’s a distance for you:

2.5k — The perfect warm-up (or the perfect excuse to avoid more bouncing!) – 15 obstacles

 5k — The classic challenge – 30 obstacles

10k — For the truly adventurous –  60 obstacles

15k — For those who genuinely love themselves… or hate themselves. We won’t judge – 90 obstacles

It’s suitable for all ages, all fitness levels, and all people who believe that doing good should also feel ridiculously good.

The Cause: Every Bounce Counts

STARS Dorset provides specialist support, counselling, and advocacy to survivors of sexual trauma and abuse across the county. We are there for people at some of the hardest moments of their lives, and the work we do depends entirely on the generosity of our community.

When you run the Inflatable 5k for STARS Dorset, you’re not just burning calories, you’re helping fund the services that give survivors a voice, a path to recovery, and a reason to believe in a brighter future. That’s a pretty powerful thing to do on a Saturday morning.
