peer2peer Hosts Inspiring Annual Christmas Members Boards Meeting at Chewton Glen

peer2peer celebrated the end of the year in exceptional style at its annual Christmas Members Boards meeting, held at the prestigious Chewton Glen Hotel & Spa. The event brought together members from its local Boards; Limewood Hotel, The Captain’s Club Hotel, Chewton Glen, Hotel Du Vin Winchester and New Place Hotel, for a day of insight, inspiration and community.

Co-Founder Simon Hawrtrey-Coombs hosted the occasion, guiding attendees through a packed but fast-paced agenda featuring a dynamic line-up of speakers.

The day opened with Liz Martins, UK Economist at HSBC, who delivered a comprehensive overview of the UK economic outlook. Her talk covered inflation trends, wage analysis, budget insights, and the resulting impact on the bond markets. She also reflected on the current political landscape and shared her perspective on “Brand Britain” and its global competitiveness as an investment destination.

Sarina Mann, from ‘Speaking With Impact’, followed with an energising session on transformative presentation skills. She focused on the power of clarity, connection, and storytelling, offering practical techniques that drive real-world results.

Health and nutrition expert Barbara Lovesy, Vice President of Health & Nutrition, gave an inspiring talk on The Top 10 Rituals of Longevity, drawing from her newly released book Land of The Rising Lifespan, which explores Japanese longevity practices.

The keynote speaker, Jeff Mostyn, shared an entertaining and heartfelt account of his 20-plus years as Chairman of AFC Bournemouth, drawing on stories from his newly launched book The Chairman -The Man Who Saved AFC Bournemouth. His humility, humour and deep respect for others resonated strongly with attendees. Jeff also highlighted the remarkable achievement of AFC Bournemouth being the only club to have had the same Chairman and Manager (Eddie Howe) across all four divisions of the English Football League.

peer2peer co-founder and CEO John Acton took to the podium next and explored the themes of Culture, Vision & Values, emphasising the importance of discovering, rather than choosing, an organisation’s culture code. He introduced peer2peer’s new values: Kindness TravelsAll Systems Go, and Fly Faster in Formation.

The final speaker of the day was Rachel Williams of Zest Lifestyle whose topic title was ‘Unlocking Vitality’ and she grabbed attention from the floor talking about the six pillars of health.

To round off the event, Jeff Mostyn, John Acton and Barbara Lovesy hosted book signings in the hotel lobby, with each attendee receiving a complimentary copy from each of the authors.

Reflecting on the day, Simon Hawrtrey-Coombs said, “It was an exceptionally inspiring day where the true spirit of the peer2peer community shone through. The energy in the room, the generosity of shared experience, and the genuine support among our members made it a standout moment in our peer2peer journey.”
