Project Update: Kingston Lacy Visitor Centre & Car Park

Aug 18, 2025

Project Update: Kingston Lacy Visitor Centre & Car Park:  Spetisbury Construction is nearing completion on a £3.5 million project for the National Trust at the historic Kingston Lacy estate. The works, which began in September 2024, are on track to be completed by October 2025.

This significant project focuses on conservation and accessibility, with major upgrades to the car park, toilets, and Welcome Centre building. Careful planning has ensured Kingston Lacy has remained open to visitors throughout, with visitor numbers holding steady.

Spetisbury Construction Directors commented:

“We’re really pleased to be working alongside the National Trust once again. This project is right on our doorstep in Wimborne and it’s been a pleasure to be part of the delivery team.

The combination of civils, new build, and conservation work makes this a perfect fit for our team’s skill set. We’ve enjoyed the problem-solving aspect of maintaining site operations while minimising disruption — making the process as smooth as possible for all involved.

We value our strong relationship with the National Trust and feel a real brand alignment, with shared values of quality, professionalism, and service.”

We’re also proud to be collaborating with a talented project team including Dittrich Hudson Vasetti Architects, Peter Gunning and Partners (QS), and SFK Consulting Ltd (Engineers).

A huge thanks to everyone involved in bringing this important and local project to life.
