All Bournemouth and Poole postcodes are covered, from BH1 – BH23 and collections will take place on 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th January 2021. You can book your tree collection now, but remember to book early as there are only a set number of places available so please register your tree today!. Bookings close on 3rd January 2021.
Volunteer drivers are also being recruited to support the initiative. Anyone interested in helping out is urged to email fundraisingteam@lewis-manning.org.uk or call 01202 708470.
Area Fundraiser Ruth Wright advised, “We are delighted to have extended our reach this year and to be servicing all Bournemouth and Poole postcodes. Registration online is simple, make a donation to Lewis-Manning Hospice Care on the Just Helping website and then leave your tree outside the front of your house/flat on the day of collection and we will take care of the rest. There’s no need to make any mess with pine needles in the boot of your car anymore!”
“We are very kindly being supported by several Dorset businesses; Eco Sustainable Solutions will be carrying out chipping on their site for free and the chips will be used for recycling purposes. Tower Park are offering space to allow us to have a chipper machine on site too. VW Breeze and Abacus Vehicle Hire will be providing a van each to support our collection services. Dorset Tree Surgeons will be volunteering manpower and providing a chipper for a day at Tower Park. EasyStorage.com will be volunteering staff and a van for two days. We are hugely grateful for all the kind and generous support received from local companies who want to show support towards the charity. It makes this initiative possible and raises invaluable funds for Lewis-Manning Hospice Care, allowing us to continue to deliver our vital services caring for patients and their families facing life-limiting illnesses across Poole, Purbeck and East Dorset.”
Peter Hardy, Commercial Director at Eco Sustainable Solutions said, “We are thrilled to be supporting the Lewis-Manning Hospice Care Christmas tree collection again this year. It is such a wonderful local hospice, which does so much good in the local community whilst also being a great way of showing how we can turn waste into wonderful products that can be used again. It is something we’re completely committed to.”
“Once the trees have been through our shredder they get put into windrows in which the temperatures exceed over 67 degrees Celsius as the material composts down. Once ready it is then screened and will be available to buy as one of our brilliant landscaping products such as Eco mix or multipurpose compost.”

About Lewis-Manning Hospice Care
Lewis-Manning Hospice Care is a charity established 28 years ago, providing extraordinary care to patients and their families facing a life-limiting illness across Poole, Purbeck and East Dorset. We offer a range of free hospice care services aimed at helping people to live well through their illness, closer to home.
These include:
– Day hospices, virtual and in person
– Creative arts & wellbeing support
– Lymphoedema clinic for cancer patients
– Better breathing clinic
– Family bereavement & support
Every year we support nearly 500 local people and we develop new services, based on patient need and identified gaps in the area.
To do this we need to raise over £1.6m every year. Without these funds we could not exist.
Our important work increases people’s physical and social well-being, reduces isolation and loneliness, supports people to stay in their homes longer, and alleviates the huge pressures on family and carers.
