CMP Print Solutions Celebrates 30 Years of Excellence

CMP Print Solutions is proud to mark its 30th anniversary this year, celebrating three decades of delivering high-quality printing and binding services across the UK.

Dorset native Paul Dawe founded the business in 1995. The business has grown from humble beginnings into a thriving enterprise, renowned for its innovation, commitment to excellence, and customer loyalty.

CMP supports various sectors, with specialism in Publishing, Education, Manufacturing, Training and Electronics.

Reflecting on the milestone, Managing Director Paul Dawe said, “We didn’t have a rigid plan when we started out, but the business has evolved as opportunities arose. We’ve focused on finding the right people, working with the right clients, and building a fantastic team that shares our vision. We only take on projects that fit us and that we know we can execute to the highest standard.

“We’ve always made decisions around efficiency and technology, ensuring that we stay ahead of the curve and deliver the best to our clients.  This approach has served us well.

“I’ve loved being the glue in the middle, maintaining strong relationships with clients and suppliers. Seeing so many of our staff stay with us for years, even decades, has been incredibly rewarding, we’re a strong team of 12.”

A Story of Growth and Adaptability

Despite the challenges of a rapidly changing print industry, CMP has remained resilient, attributing its success to a nimble and flexible approach. By prioritising profitable and well-aligned opportunities, the company has carved a niche for itself in the sector.

The company is on a strong growth trajectory, with a 35% increase in business expected this year and a projected 45% growth next year. A key driver of this success has been the appointment of Business Development Manager Toby Culff, whose background in publishing has opened exciting new doors in the sector.

Pioneering in Publishing

In 2011, CMP entered the publishing industry, a move that proved vital during the COVID-19 pandemic. As demand for books surged, the company not only survived but thrived, further solidifying its presence in the publishing world. This sector remains a key focus of growth.

“Publishing kept us alive through COVID, and it’s where we’re seeing significant growth today,” said Dawe.

A Dorset-Based Business with a National Reach

Whilst proudly based in Dorset, CMP serves clients across the UK, with 90% of its work coming from outside the region. Pre-Brexit, the company also operated internationally.

The Poole based company owns its 7,000 SQ foot premises, purchased in 2000, which underscores its stability and long-term commitment to its operations.

Celebrating Teamwork and Customer Loyalty

The company attributes much of its success to its team and loyal customer base.
“None of what we achieve would happen without the incredible teamwork at CMP,” said Operations Head and Production Lead, Richard Johnson. “Happy customers make for a happy team, and communication is key to everything we do.”

Dawe concluded, “CMP remains optimistic about the future.

As we celebrate this milestone, we look forward to many more years of success, innovation, and collaboration in the ever-evolving print and publishing industry.”
