Trethowans advises on the acquisition of Futuremost Group by Elliotts

Trethowans, a leading law firm with offices across the central south of England, have acted in the acquisition of Futuremost Group Limited by Elliotts. With 13 builders merchant branches and a further four kitchen and bathroom showrooms across Hampshire and Dorset, Elliotts is one of the oldest family-run businesses in the UK, having been trading since 1842.

Futuremost, established in 1987 and based in Portsmouth, is a manufacturer and installer of bespoke aluminium and PVCu window units. The acquisition will see the business continue to trade under its own name while benefiting from the strategic growth opportunities afforded by becoming part of the Elliotts group.

Trethowans has significant expertise in the building materials supply sector, having worked with builders merchants, manufacturers, and service providers for over 20 years. The firm’s corporate team has advised on numerous acquisitions and sales within the sector, with deal values typically ranging from £1m to £15m, and the commercial team have particular expertise in the sector. This experience enables Trethowans to address the unique challenges of transactions in this industry, including property, environmental compliance, health and safety, and commercial contracts.

This acquisition is a significant milestone for Elliotts as it broadens its portfolio and strengthens its position in the construction market.
