Barker Laundry & Dry Cleaning receive King’s Warrant in Buckingham Palace announcement

Dorset based Barker Laundry & Dry Cleaning has today received the King’s Warrant, which is a Royal Warrant of Appointment granted as a mark of recognition to people or companies who have regularly supplied goods or services to the Royal Household.

The Buckingham Palace announcement follows a review of companies granted royal warrants by the monarch when he was the Prince of Wales.

Barker Laundry & Dry Cleaning is one of 138 firms who were again given the special status now he is King, and another seven were named as holders by him and his wife.

Royal Warrant holders represent a huge cross-section of trade and industry, from individual craftspeople to global multi-nationals, ranging from dry cleaners to fishmongers, and from agricultural machinery to computer software.

Barker MD Matthew Barker advised, “We are extremely proud to receive this accolade from the Monarch.  We were awarded a Prince of Wales Royal Warrant back in 2015 and today’s announcement is brilliant news for us to continue with our royal recognition.

“As ever, it’s a great thank you to all our staff for providing a consistently high quality of service.  I’d like to offer my huge and sincere thanks to all the amazing team at Barker Laundry & Dry Cleaning.

“As a King’s Warrant Holder we are looking forward to displaying the Royal Arms”

Barker is in good company, among those who have retained warrant status are luxury jewellers Cartier, Garrard & Co and Mappin & Webb, champagne producer Laurent-Perrier, whisky distiller D Johnston & Co and high-end supermarket Waitrose.

Also in the group are fashion house Burberry, Saville Row tailors Anderson and Sheppard and Gieves and Hawkes, shirt makers Turnbull & Asser and car manufacturers Aston Martin Lagonda, Bentley, Audi and Jaguar Land Rover.
