The Simplify Consulting Charity Golf Day has raised a record figure for charity. The annual event, which is in its 5th year, took place at Dudsbury Golf Course in Ferndown and attracted no less that 172 golfers and smashed its charitable target by raising an incredible £15,500 for Wessex Cancer Trust.
Simplify Directors Kate Monserrate and Carl Woodward advised, “We are blown away at the success of our event and the level of participation that it has attracted. It has become an important fixture in the Simplify calendar and the growth and support that we have received over the years has been phenomenal. We are hugely grateful to everyone involved, including players, sponsors and a brilliant team of volunteers. We were very honoured to have the charity auction ably hosted by Paul Coyte of Tottenham Hotspur and TalkSport2 and Spurs footballing legend Micky Hazard. As big Spurs fans we were delighted to have their involvement and commitment to our fundraising. Their humour certainly made it fun too!”
Kate continued, “I have had a challenging year, following treatment for breast cancer. Thankfully I have been given the all clear but I know and appreciate only too well the amazing work that Wessex Cancer Trust does. It is fantastic to be able to support this local charity in the work that they do helping people suffering with cancer and their families too.”
Maria Tidy, Community Engagement Manager at Wessex Cancer Trust enthused, “We are totally thrilled at the amount raised. This will help to make a massive difference to local people with a cancer diagnosis. It has been an absolutely fantastic day, so well organised and it’s great to be involved and to be a part of it. I’d like to pay special thanks to the committed team of volunteers who have helped out today.”

Following her year of cancer treatment, Kate Monserrate has set up a web site called, ‘Smashing It’, to support ladies who are going through breast cancer treatment. The site provides ‘practical hints, tips and things to get to make treatment and recovery more bearable.’ www.smashing-it.co.uk
