Staff from Saffery Champness Chartered Accountants volunteered for a litter pick on Bournemouth beach, after work on Friday evening. The group of 13 keen volunteers spent nearly 2 hours on the beach, cleaning up the area to the west of Bournemouth Pier and under the Pier.
Organised by Saffery staff member Jo Skipp, who is also co-founder of local organisation ‘Wimborne War on Waste’ explained, “We liaised with Bournemouth Council beach office who provided the necessary equipment for the beach clean. Whilst it was disappointing to discover the high levels of rubbish that we collected, it was great to be involved in the local community and to be supporting the town. Safferys are hugely proud to have a base in Bournemouth and we’re keen to support the local environment and its sustainability. I’d like to say a big thanks to everyone who gave up their early evening. We really did make a difference!”
